Want to run or walk your first 5K?

Campus Recreation’s Couch to 5K is a 10-week progressive training program with the goal of helping individuals go from inactivity to running/jogging a 5K race. The program will safely progress in length and speed each week, starting with timed walks and culminating with a 5K road race later in the semester. Participants do not need to have any previous running or racing experience-this program is designed with beginners in mind!

Campus Recreation’s Couch to 5K is open to all FSU students, faculty/staff, and members of the Leach Center or Fitness and Movement Clinic.

The cost is $25 to join which includes:
• Ten weeks of training
• Health coach consultations
• Entry into the 5k race finale event (hosted by Campus Rec)
• Race tee
• Raffle prizes

Registration will be open from Monday January 6th through Wednesday, January 22nd. Fill out the attached registration form and submit it to the fitness counter at the Leach Center or Fitness and Movement Clinic. Forms may also be emailed to Lauren Ormsbee.

Registration is not complete until participants have submitted their $25 non-refundable registration fee. Participants may pay by cash, check, or credit card at the Leach Center front desk. Make checks payable to “Florida State University.” Refunds will only be made in the event of a documented medical illness or injury.

The first session will take place on Monday, January 27th at the main entrance of the Leach Center. Your group will determine whether to meet at 6:30 am or noon. After the first session, it will be up to you, your team, and your trainer to determine where you will start and end each session on campus. If there is a day with inclement weather (cold or rain), your trainer and team will meet in the Leach lobby and use the indoor track.
