We understand your fear and apprehension around water is very real. Our beginner lessons can help students and adults overcome their fear of the water and to learn the basic skills to achieve a minimum level of water competency and comfort.

- Days: Mondays & Wednesdays: April 1-17
- Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- Total Sessions: 6 sessions over 3 weeks

Course Goals: Help participants gain basic aquatic skills and swimming strokes. This courses teaches skills and concepts needed to stay safe in and around water and to help yourself or others in an aquatic emergency.
Prerequisites: None.
Improving Skills & Strokes
This course is perfect for developing or refining your swimming strokes as well as preparing for fitness swimming and/or triathlon training.

- Time: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Total Sessions: 6 sessions over 3 weeks
- Location: Leach Center Pool
Course Goals: Improve participants’ proficiency in basic aquatic skills and the six basic swimming strokes. Teach skills and concepts needed to stay safe in and around water and to help themselves or others in an aquatic emergency.
Prerequisites: Participants must be comfortable in chest-deep water, able to put their face in the water, able to perform strokes that can be recognized as front crawl, breaststroke and back crawl, each for 15 yards.
