The Fitness Program offers a variety of fitness assessments to help you establish a baseline and track your progress towards a sensible fitness goal. Simply stop by the Fitness Desk at the Leach Center to make an appointment or with any questions!
Bod Pod
The Bod Pod assessment provides a measurement of body composition including lean mass and fat mass using air displacement plethysmography. Similar to underwater weighing, this test uses density to determine these values. The test takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Bod Pod assessments are available on weekday mornings. Participants must fast for at least 2 hours prior to the test and may not workout prior to the test to ensure proper results.
Current FSU students and Campus Recreation members may schedule and pay for a Bod Pod assessment via Rec Connect, select Programs > Strength & Conditioning.
Non-members should contact the Fitness Staff for assistance. To arrange a test outside of the offered schedule, please contact the Fitness Staff to review other options.
Bod Pod assessments are offered at the following rates:
- FSU Students: $25
- Campus Recreation Members: $35
- Non-Members: $50
Bod Pod Assessment Schedule
Microfit
The Fitness Program offers free Microfit testing which provides data on the five components of fitness: body composition, cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. All Microfit assessments take place in the Leach Center. Please wear appropriate workout attire (shorts are preferred). A Microfit assessment takes approximately an hour to complete.

Cancellation Policy: The Assessment Consultant will contact you approximately 48 hours prior to your Microfit Assessment. You will have 24 hours to respond to the Assessment Consultant to confirm that you will arrive for your appointment. If you do not respond to the Assessment Consultant within the allotted 24 hours, your registration will be cleared from our records and made available to other patrons for scheduling.
