What is a day in the life at your current position?
Attending pharmacy school in a virtual format this semester. Working at Tampa General (TGH) on weekends and school breaks. Trying to stay active through outdoor running, beach trips, and gym sessions.
How did you get your start in Campus Recreation?
I applied as a freshman seeking formal job experience. I started as a Maintenance Technician and then switched over to a Customer Service position. Then I rose through the ranks over my time there and became a Student Director. Pretty much did it all within FFO.
How did your time at Campus Rec contribute to your life and/or career goals?
One thing that was really preached upon (by Jorge) was transferable skills. Working within campus rec for four years helped me to hone my conflict resolution, communication, and leadership skills that have translated into other aspects of my professional life.
What is your favorite memory from your time at Campus Rec?
I definitely miss the giant family feeling of Rec. I felt very tied into things going on around me because of my friends and coworkers and supervisors. They were my biggest supporters and still are, but I miss seeing them every day.
What advice would you give yourself in college?
