What was your first job?
My first job was working at a retirement community as a wait staff in 10th grade!
How did you get your start in Campus Recreation?
I was playing on an intramural softball team my first semester at Washington State University and one of my friends told me I could get paid to officiate intramural sports. I instantly jumped in and started officiating intramural softball, basketball, soccer, and floor hockey!
What do you do for fun?
Rugby & pickleball are the two best sports hands down, so I try to play/watch as much as I can. Traveling is a big passion of mine; so far I’ve been to 10 countries! I’m also a big Netflix and Game of Thrones fan.
Who do you admire and why?
I really admire LeBron James both as an athlete, businessman, and family guy. His leadership and care for the community around him really shows and he is truly an inspiration!
What’s your favorite place to grab a meal in Tallahassee?
Hmm… Kool Beanz is pretty good. I like the rotating menu, there’s always something new to try!
What do you do?
I am the Facility Coordinator for the Leach Recreation Center and Fitness & Movement Clinic. I oversee the daily operations and student staff of our wonderful facilities.
What does an average day look like?
Typically I get into the office and start going through emails, then I like to check in with my students periodically throughout the day and make sure things are running smoothly at both facilities.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The students – DUH! I really enjoy seeing the growth and development from the time a student starts working in campus recreation to the time they leave and go on to the next stage of their lives.
What advice would you give yourself in college?
Don’t take these moments for granted!! It goes by much more quickly than you realize.
