What was your first job?
My first job was at Texas Roadhouse. I was a hostess for two years and then worked in take-out for one year. Yes, I know all of the line dances and yes, I have eaten enough of the bread for a lifetime.
How did you get your start in Campus Recreation?
My best friend worked for FFO and told me that I should I apply to be a Customer Service Representative, and after three semesters I was promoted to Facility Supervisor! I very quickly fell in love with Campus Rec and the energy of the people within the organization. So, when I learned that there was a marketing graduate assistant position opening, I knew I had to apply!
What do you do for fun?
In my free time, I love working out and working to meet my fitness goals! I also love spending time with my friends on the weekend after a long week of classes and work.
Who do you admire and why?
My best friends. They’re incredible humans, always pushing themselves and encouraging me to be better every day.
What’s your favorite place to grab a meal in Tallahassee?
There are so many great places around town, but if I had to narrow it down I would have to say Royal Thai and Sushi, Bada Bean, and Gordos.
What do you do?
I work with the Campus Rec Marketing team to produce content and promote Campus Rec activities!
What does an average day look like?
While every day is a little different, I’m typically working with the whole marketing crew to help promote Campus Rec activities and different events.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Definitely working with all of the great people that work in Campus Rec! All of the professional and student staff are great people to work with and bring such positive energy to everything they do.
What advice would you give yourself in college?
Utilize your resources and take advantage of the opportunities on campus! There are so many wonderful things to do on campus for fun, as well as to help you educationally and professionally.
