The FSU Reservation, a 73-acre waterfront facility bordering beautiful Lake Bradford, serves as home base for Camp Flastacowo’s Explorer Camp. Campers split their time exploring some of North Florida’s outdoor recreation opportunities and exploring their inner abilities as leaders in a Summer Camp setting.

Eight one-week sessions are available, operating each week Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.  Due to the challenging nature of this program, the camp is open only to youths ages 13-17. Each session is limited to 9 participants. Campers may sign up for as many sessions as desired.

Registration for 2020 will open mid-spring.

  • Various other Big Bend destinations

Campers must have reached their 13th birthday prior to the first day of camp session and must not have reached their 18th birthday by the first day of the camp session; proof of birth date is required for placement into appropriate group. Campers do not need to have prior experience in the following activities but must be physically able to participate in paddling, rock climbing and hiking.

For the safety of the campers throughout this challenging week, each Monday, campers will perform a swim check. The swim check requires campers to swim 50 meters and tread water for 2 minutes. Use of the camper’s own equipment for outdoor adventures is allowed but not required.

Upon registration, you’ll need to download the Parental Informed Consent Form, which will be provided during the registration process. The consent document can now be digitally signed and emailed to us at campflastacowo@fsu.edu. Your payment without the additional documentation is considered incomplete. The Informed Consent Form may only be signed by the camper’s parent or legal guardian.
