Pattie Malarney, senior associate director, has announced her retirement.
Malarney joined Campus Recreation under director Alicia Crew. During her twenty four years at Florida State University, she championed the aquatics program, outdoor and experiential learning, the FSU Rez and more.
“I had a fabulous run at Florida State,” shared Malarney. “Thank you to so many who made it special, I miss you all. However, retirement is grand, liberating, peaceful, fun and relaxing. Loving every moment.”
Campus Recreation celebrated Pattie at a retirement event in Dodd Hall on Friday, December 7th. Mentors, colleagues and friends gathered to honor a career of leadership and spunk.
Retirement sparked nostalgia in many alumni, who took to Facebook to share their favorite moments.
“A fine example of how to serve the FSU community,” shared Lee Murphy, former campus rec employee. “She is a role model for many Recreation professionals – thank you for your service!”
Malarney will continue to serve her community through Catholic Charities. She is enjoying retirement with her beloved pups. View more photos from Pattie’s retirement and share your memories here.
