Dr. Bobby E. Leach Fund for Leadership Development

Florida State University Campus Recreation celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center, the department’s flagship fitness facility on the Tallahassee main campus, in 2017.

As part of our celebration, the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Fund for Leadership Development was established.  Support of this fund honors Dr. Leach’s legacy by providing leadership and career development opportunities to Campus Recreation student employees. In memory of Dr. Bobby E. Leach, this fund serves as a lasting tribute to Dr. Leach’s commitment to student leadership development and guidance in helping students develop their own sense of ethics and values.

Donations will support student development opportunities for many of the over 700 FSU students who gain valuable work experience in the department each year.  Employment within Campus Recreation affords students the opportunity to gain valuable job skills that often complement their academic pursuits.  Campus Recreation’s student development initiatives expand student learning through on-campus workshops and off-campus conferences around the state, region, and nation.

In Memory of Amy Grabina

Amy was a supervisor for the Intramural Sports and Sport Club Programs from August of 2012 until December of 2014, when she graduated FSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She was a very outgoing, loving, bubbly, and loyal member of the staff. She touched so many people throughout her time here and created lasting memories. She will be missed but her infectious love will carry on to all of those she has touched.

Per the request of her family, Campus Recreation is accepting donations in Amy’s memory through the methods above. Please select “Campus Recreation General Fund” and/or “Intramurals and Sport Clubs” when prompted.
