Program Changes

Updated Monday, August 3rd at 12:00 pm

Group Fitness
Group fitness will offer in-person classes and continue online classes via Zoom.  Visit our Active Anywhere page for class options and schedule.

Fitness Coaching & Personal Training
Virtual personal training applications are open now. View our Active Anywhere page for more information.

Sports – Pick-Up Games
All sports offerings are evaluated based on the risk associated with participant contact level in the activity and the number of simultaneous participants. Specific sports may be altered through rule modifications to reduce player numbers and/or increase social distancing (reducing contact).

Activities permitted at Campus Recreation facilities will meet these guidelines in association with health and safety guidance.

Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports will continue to offer sport-related activities through various online platforms. Virtual offerings include e-sports gaming, sports trivia, pick em challenges.  As conditions allow, in-person offerings may include 2-on-2 sand volleyball, singles and doubles tennis, bocce ball, cornhole and other tailgate games, and sport skills competitions.

Additional information on in-person IM leagues will be released later in August. View our Active Anywhere page for more suggestions.

Sport Clubs
A seven-step return-to-play protocol is being utilized to evaluate each sport club and current health and safety guidance. Campus Recreation is consulting with each member organization on appropriate activities and to assist with guiding their preparations for increasing levels of activity.

At present, sport club activities are limited to virtual meetings. In-person group activities are not permitted, pending further consultation with the Sport Club Program administrative staff.

Outdoor Recreation
The Rez will offer swimming, watercraft rentals and socially distanced land activities.

Outdoor Pursuits will offer free campus-based excursions from the main campus, and a series of local meet-up excursions in the Tallahassee area at a reduced cost.

Socially distanced Challenge programs will be available for FSU and community groups. Virtual teambuilding via our new online escape room will be available for FSU and community groups. View our Active Anywhere page for more information.

Facility Rentals
University and non-University events are paused from scheduling at this time. More information will be released in the coming weeks.
