The FSU Weightlifting Club provides a supportive atmosphere for students to strength train. We utilize compound barbell movements, especially the squat, the deadlift, and the bench press. Some members also perform Olympic lifts. Our first goal is safety and proficiency for members within the movements they perform. Our second goal is to facilitate an understanding of progressive overload training.
The club officially meets once a week to lift and share knowledge about technique, form, and progress. Early each semester, new lifters are given a great deal of feedback and supervision, as well as program that aligns with their goals.
The club competes in powerlifting in the USAPL federation. As a competition approaches, the team will arrange for interested participants to train in such a way that performance at the meet is optimized.
In addition to regular training and competition, we participate in and host clinics and community events that promote our training style.
