American Red Cross CPR & First Aid

The Aquatics Department offers students, faculty and staff, and the community the opportunity to enroll in certification classes. The classes are held at the Leach Center and are taught by certified American Red Cross instructors.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Providers with First Aid

This course will certify individuals who are in positions that may require them to give care in emergency situations. This course provides expanded modules also covers standard First Aid. 

  • Saturday, September 30th 9:15am - 1:30pm
  • Saturday, October 14th 12pm-6pm
  • This is not a series of courses, you only need to register for one.
  • FSU Students: $60 / Non-Students: $75

Review Courses: CPR / AED For the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Providers

These review courses are designed for individuals who are currently certified in CPR and need to renew their expiring certification. This course will renew CPR / AED for Pro Rescuer and First Aid. Participants will practice all CPR skills and will take the same written exam as the full original course. Prerequisites include proof of current CPR certification.

Adult CPR/First Aid/ and AED for Lay Responders

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. The intended audience for the courses in this program includes lay responders in the workplace and community.

  • Sunday, September 17th; 1pm-6pm
  • Saturday, October 28th; 10am-3pm 

FSU Students: $40 / Non-FSU Students: $60


Review Courses: Adult CPR/First Aid/ and AED for the Leay Responder

The purpose of a review course is to give participants the opportunity to review the course content within a formal class setting. The format optimizes a participant’s ability to successfully complete the knowledge and skill tests. The responsibility for preparing for the written exam is shared by the instructor and participant. Each participant will have the opportunity to view the video segments, practice and perform skills for evaluation and complete the written exams.

To be eligible to participate in a review course, the participant must possess a current American Red Cross certificate (or equivalent) for the course being conducted. Those without a certificate may not participate in the review course option.
